Adams: BFAIR plans inaugural Walk for Independence

Posted

Berkshire Family & Individual Resources Inc. will kick off its first ever Walk for Independence fundraiser at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Adams Visitor's Center on the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail.

Walkers will stroll to Cheshire and back, or any distance in between.

Registration costs $20 for adults, $10 for kids, and free for children under 5, and includes a picnic lunch and giveaway.

Interested walkers can register online at www.bfair.org, by calling 413-664-9382, ext. 40, or emailing info@bfair.org.

Walkers may seek individual sponsors by asking family and friends to support their walk. Individual walker donation envelopes are available for pickup at the BFAIR administrative office on South Church Street, North Adams.

Prizes will be awarded to the top five sponsored walkers.

A local non-profit, BFAIR relies on public funds to provide services for adults, adolescents and children with developmental disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury, and the elderly.

Corporate sponsorships are available. Contact Jennifer Civello at jcivello@bfair.org for more information.

The walk replaces BFAIR"s miniature golf tournament fundraiser.
