Adams: Events to mark Anthony’s birthday

Wednesday February 13, 2013

The Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum, in conjunction with the Adams Historical Society, will host "Iron Will and Silver Daggers" to honor Susan B. Anthony’s Birthday from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Adams Free Library.

This is a free event and all are welcome.

The event will consist of two presentations -- a talk by author and curator Mary Ann Sachse Brown and a performance by musician Diane Taraz.

Brown will delve into the fierce commitment to freedom and equality within the Anthony family. She is the author of "Celebrating Women of Leavenworth County" and the curator of the Anthony family exhibits at the Leavenworth County Historical Society.

Taraz will perform folk songs passed down for generations -- songs of love, childbirth, marriage, and adventure.

Birthday cake will be served after the presentations.

Children are welcome and will have their own activities during the talk, sponsored by a Cadette Girl Scout.
