Adams: Memorial Day ceremonies planned
An Adams resident who spent combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan will deliver the featured address at the Adams Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 26.
Reserve Air Force Lt. Col. Bruce Shepley served as a flight nurse with the 439 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron from Westover Air Reserve base from 1982 to 2013. He served combat tours in Iraq in 2003 and 2004, and Afghanistan in 2009. He is retired from the military.
The Memorial Day parade will step off at 10 a.m. from in front of the former Adams Memorial Middle School and will conclude with the traditional ceremony at the Maple Street Cemetery.
The American Legion Post 160 Honor Guard will participate. In the event of rain the ceremony will be held in the Adams Fire Station.
