Adams: Outdoor burning begins Jan. 15


Open burning of agricultural debris, excluding leaves, grass, stumps, and demolition debris will begin Jan. 15 and end April 30.

Burning is permitted Monday through Sunday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Outdoor fires must be at least 75 feet from any building, attended to and under control at all times.

A burning permit must be obtained before any burning can be done. Burning permits may be obtained by calling Forest Warden Dick Kleiner at either 413-743-0179, ext. 12 (work) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or 413-743-3592 (home) at all other times.

Violation of Massachusetts Law (527 CMR 10:22) can be punishable by a fine of $100.
