Adams: Outdoor burning permits available Jan. 15


Open burning of agricultural debris, excluding leaves, grass, stumps and demolition debris, will begin Jan. 15 and end May 1, at 4 p.m.

Burning is permitted Monday through Sunday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Outdoor fires must be at least 75 feet from any building, attended to and under control at all times.

A burning permit must be obtained before any burning can be done.

Burning permits may be obtained by calling Forest Warden Dick Kleiner at either (413) 743-0179, Ext. 12 (work), Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or (413) 743-3592 (home) at all other times.

Violation of Massachusetts Law (527 CMR 10:22) can be punishable by a fine of $100.
