Adams: Topia Arts Center awarded $22K matching grant from MCC

The Topia Arts Center was awarded a $22,000 matching grant by the Massachusetts Cultural Council Cultural Facilities Fund. This is the second such grant received by Topia, making it the first cultural organization in Adams to receive two grants from the MCC.

The most recent grant is for raising funds to restore the old Adams Theater. Such will be done through a program implemented by a professional group such as that which raised funds for the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield.

According to William Kolis, chairman of the board of Topia, the Center must raise the matching funds by June 13, otherwise the grant will be revoked.

Those wishing to support this effort may contact Topia Arts Center at or send donations to Topia Arts Center c/o Adams Community Bank, Adams, MA 01220.
