Adams: View the stars from Mount Greylock summit

Star gazing from the summit of Mount Greylock will be offered from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 19.

Members of the non-profit Amherst Area Amateur Astronomers Association (the 5As) have available a number of different telescopes with lens apertures varying in size from 3-20 inches.

The program is free, appropriate for all ages and canceled only if there is heavy cloud cover or rain.

Participants should wear warm clothing for cool evening temperatures after sunset. Flashlights for walking are recommended after dark. Meet on the summit near the War Memorial Tower.

The program is wheelchair accessible, reasonable accommodations may be available upon request.
