Aglet slates "Visiting Mr. Green" reading
SHEFFIELD >> Aglet Theatre Company presents the second staged reading of its spring season, "Visiting Mr. Green" by Jeff Baron, Saturday at Dewey Memorial Hall on Route 7.
Doors open at 7 p.m. for complimentary beverages and refreshments, followed by the reading and a post-performance discussion led by Gloria Miller, an Aglet co-founder and associate artistic director.
Mr. Green, an elderly Jewish recluse, is almost hit by a car driven by young corporate executive Ross Gardiner. Found guilty of reckless driving, Ross is ordered to make weekly visits to Mr. Green for the next six months. What starts as a comedy about two people who resent being in the same room together develops into something else, as family secrets are revealed and old wounds are opened.
The cast includes Aglet's artistic director Macey Levin and Christopher Michael Vecchia, who appeared together in Aglet's "Mass Appeal." Artistic associate Thomas Gruenewald is directing.
