Aglet Theatre Company slates staged reading on Saturday

Posted

SHEFFIELD >> Aglet Theatre Company has scheduled a staged reading of Eric Coble's "The Velocity of Autumn" Saturday evening at Dewey Memorial Hall, 91 Main St. (Route 7).

Doors open at 7 for complimentary beverages and refreshments.

"The Velocity of Autumn" is directed by Aglet's artistic associate, Thomas Gruenewald, who staged last season's "Copenhagen," "The Good Bet" and "Visiting Mr. Green." The cast includes Berkshires veterans Andrew Joffe and Gail Ryan.

Alexandra (Ryan) is a 79-year-old artist in a face-off with her children over where she'll spend her last years. She still has her wit and dynamic strength. She also has surrounded herself in her New York townhouse with an accumulation of Molotov cocktails. When her son Chris (Joffe), whom she has not seen for 20 years, climbs through her second floor window, the emotional duels explode.

Ticket information is available by phone at 860-435-6928 or online at aglettheatre@comcast.net.
