SHEFFIELD >> Aglet Theatre has scheduled auditions for its two spring staged play readings — "Stella and Lou" by Bruce Graham and "You Better Sit Down: Tales From My Parents' Divorce" by Anne Kaufman, Matthew Maher, Caitlin Miller, Jennifer R. Morris, Janice Paran, Robbie Collier Sublett — beginning 6 p.m. Monday at Dewey Hall, 91 Main St. (Route 7).

Auditions are by appointment only. Appointments can be made either by phone at 860-435-6928 or email at

"Stella and Lou" — which will be performed at 7 p.m. on April 2 — is about two kindred spirits seeking solace as they navigate changing times and past relationships in a bar on a quiet night. Both characters are in their 50s/60s.

Crafted from interviews between the original cast and their parents, "You Better Sit Down " is a, by turns, funny and dramatic account of the parents' marriages and their subsequent divorces.

Needed are two men and two women in their 30s. The reading is scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 7.
