Alleged North Adams drug dealers arrested

NORTH ADAMS >> Several months of surveillance on a West Main Street house has led to the arrest of two Springfield residents for allegedly selling cocaine.

Kurt Vosburgh and Joevany Santiago were arrested Friday during a raid by members of the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force, according to a post on the North Adams Police Department's Facebook page. Their ages were not available.

In response to multiple calls about the house from concerned citizens and neighbors, police had the house under surveillance for about three months.

Officers turned up evidence of cocaine dealing at the house, which investigators believed to be a "trap house" used as a central drug distribution location.

Santiago was held on $3,500 bail after pleading not guilty on Tuesday to a single count of distributing a class B drug.

Vosburgh was charged with class B drug possession and permitting a nuisance.

He is expected to be arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court on Wednesday.
