Area college students named to dean’s list
Jill Ritrosky of Pittsfield has been named to the dean’s list at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic for the fall 2012 semester. Ritrosky, a member of the Class of 2016, is majoring in sociology.
Leslie Martin, daughter of Thomas and Adriane Martin of Pittsfield, has been named to the dean’s list and chancellor’s list at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth for the fall 2012 semester.
Dean’s list requires a 3.2 or greater GPA and the chancellor’s list requires a 3.8 or greater GPA.
Martin is majoring in psychology and is in the honors program at UMass Dartmouth. She is also the coordinator for Homelessness and Hunger campaign for Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group at UMass Dartmouth.
She is a 2011 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute has named the following students to its dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester:
Serena Makkaoui of Pittsfield, a senior majoring in management information systems.
Aaron Durkee of Pittsfield, a junior majoring in aerospace engineering.
Ryan Wheeler of Adams, a junior majoring in robotics engineering.
Adam Lemoine of Adams, a freshman majoring in mechanical engineering.
The criteria for the WPI Dean’s List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average. Instead, WPI defines the dean’s list by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
The University of Vermont in Burlington has named the following students to its dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester:
Annalena A. Barrett of Housatonic, a first-year majoring in environmental studies in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Dylan M. Nash of Lenox, a senior majoring in business administration in the School of Business Administration.
Kerry A. Flynn of Pittsfield, a first-year majoring in professional nursing in the College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Hannah L. Link of Pittsfield, a sophomore majoring in environmental studies in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
Gabriel T. Piazza of Chatham, N.Y., a sophomore majoring in environmental studies in the Rubenstein School of Environment & Natural Resources.
Dean’s list requires students to have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
