Area students name to college president’s lists

The State University of New York at Potsdam has named the following students to its president’s list for the fall 2012 semester:

Heather Martell of Pownal, Vt., whose major is theatre.

Aidan Talbot of Cummington whose major is music education.

Erik Viner of Stephentown, N.Y., whose major is history.

The president’s list requires a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Alexander Beauchesne, son of Rene and June Beauchesne of Dalton, has been named a Trustee Scholar at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt., in fall 2012. He is majoring in game programming. Trustee Scholars have earned the rank of president’s list, having earned a 4.0 grade point average, two or more semesters in a row.


Kristen Bossio, a resident of Pittsfield, was named to president’s list at Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., for the fall 2012 semester. Bossio is a freshman creative arts major at Siena. To be named to the president’s list, a student’s grade point average for the semester must be 3.9 or above.


The following students were named Presidential Scholars for the fall 2012 semester at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.:

Andrew R. Klem of Dalton, a senior majoring in electrical engineering.

Joshua B. Pyser of Dalton, a freshman majoring in biomolecular science.

Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.
