Murder-mystery dinner theater


The Comical Mystery Tour ensemble invites the public to join the fun with its program, "Quiet, You're Dead!", a murder-mystery dinner theater performance on Sunday. Doors open at 5 p.m. Program starts and first course served at 5:30 p.m.

Join an autograph dinner in honor of J.J. Rolling, author of the novel series "Henrietta Porters and the Witches' School of Flying Housewares." J.J. is toasted at his hometown Amanda Huggankiz Library by Dewey Decibel, Conan Del Libre or Conan the Librarian, Ms. Brooke Snooty and Harriett Potterson. Have they assembled to shower J.J. with praise or do they have other deadly reasons for seeing him?

Cost to attend is $40 per person including a full course dinner. A cash bar is available for beer and wine. Reservations are required by Monday, Jan. 15th. Seating is limited. Chatham, N.Y.

Auditions for 'Cabaret' slated

The Ghent Playhouse will hold auditions for "Cabaret" (1998 version) Tuesday and Thursday at St. James Church; 117 Hudson Ave., Chatham, N.Y. (the corner of routes 66 and 203). Sign-in at 7 p.m.; auditions begin at 7:30 p.m.

There will be both dance and vocal auditions for this show, so dress in comfortable shoes and clothing. Rehearsals will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 4 to 10 p.m. Sundays. The show will run March 16 through April 1. Performances are at 8 pm Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

Be prompt for auditions and ready with your list of conflicts. If you are younger than the age-ranges listed, but feel that you can portray older than you are, don't hesitate to audition.



Williamstown

BART actors to give dramatic reading


The Advanced Acting Class at BART Charter Public School will present a reading of Ann-Marie MacDonald's play, "Good Night Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)," at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Adams Memorial Theatre at Williams College, 1000 Main St., Williamstown. This event is a fundraiser for the BART theater department to help fund future shows, field trips and workshops.

Students performing are Natalie Celebi, Miles Fippinger, Shanique Maloney, Riley Rivard, Hannah Stringer and Caitlin Terpak. Tickets, at the door, are $10. Snacks and drinks will be for sale during intermission.

"Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)" is a 1988 comedic play by Ann-Marie MacDonald in which Constance Ledbelly, a young English literature professor from Queen's University, goes on a subconscious journey of self-discovery.
