At the Movies

Yet another Nicholas Sparks novel is the source for yet another big-screen heart-tugger. "Safe Haven," a PG-13-rated romantic drama set in the quiet hamlet of Southport, N.C., stars Josh Duhamel as a widowed father of two who takes a shine to the new waitress in town (Julianne Hough), who happens to be a woman on the run.

It opens today, Valentine's Day, at Berkshire Mall Cinema 10 in Lanesborough and North Adams Movieplex 8.
