Barrington Stage Company Youth Theatre: 'Little Mermaid Jr.' auditions scheduled


PITTSFIELD -- Barrington Stage Company has just acquired the rights to "Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr." for its Youth Theatre production to be presented, in lieu of the previously announced "Aladdin Jr.," July 24 through Aug. 11 at Berkshire Museum.

Rehearsals begin on June 29. Performers must commit to the full rehearsal and performance schedule.

Auditions for actors between the ages of 13-19 will be held in two-hour slots by appointment only at Barrington Stage's Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, 30 Union St., on Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.-noon. Callbacks are March 15-17.

All actors must act, sing, and move well. Those auditioning should bring a headshot or labeled photo and prepare 16 bars of two contrasting songs from two musicals of your choice. An accompanist will be provided.

Songs must be from published musicals. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key and be prepared to dance.

All roles are available. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
