Becket: 250th Committee seeks new town logo design
The Becket 250th Anniversary Committee is interested in creating a new logo for the town flag and decals as part of the town’s 250th celebration.
The town flag hangs in the State House in Boston. Decals of the logo are on most of the town-owned vehicles.
Students and adults alike are welcome to submit a design by Feb. 14 to the Town Hall, 557 Main St., Becket, MA 01223.
Participants must include their name and keep in mind what would be appropriate for the flag.
The original design of a knight on horseback was created by a student in time for Becket’s bicentennial 50 years ago. Many would like to see a more historical/geographical/colorful design that truly portrays a scene in Becket.
A 12" square/circle design would be suitable. Colors are important as well as simplicity.
The final design well be selected by a committee including the 250th group. A vote will be taken at the annual town meeting in May to decide whether or not to adopt the new design.
