Becket: Canoe trip to Buckley-Dunton Lake

Berkshire Sanctuaries is sponsoring a canoe trip to Buckley-Dunton Lake from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 8. The trip will be led by Rene Laubach, director of Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries.

Participants will explore the coves and inlets of this pond, see the boreal plant communities, and watch for signs of animals such as porcupines and moose.

The cost is $15 for Mass Audubon members and $20 for non-members.

Directions to meeting place will be provided upon registration. Children must be at least 10 years of age, accompanied by an adult, and know how to swim. Bring food, drink, insect repellent, and sunscreen.
