Becket: LGBTQAI youth conference slated Saturday


The Berkshire Area Health Education Center announces the LGBTQAI+/Live Out Loud Community Conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Becket Chimney Corners, 748 Hamilton Road.

The conference and training are for anyone who self-identifies as or supports those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, questioning, androgynous, intersex, ally, or other self-identification related to gender identity or sexual orientation.

It is open to care providers, youth, parents, allies, educators, and community members. The conference is free of charge and includes breakfast and lunch. The conference is designed to provide basic cultural competence for all attendees, as well as a track specifically for clinical providers.

Five continuing education credits will be offered through Berkshire AHEC to professional service providers.

Transportation will be provided by youth services providers for all youth who wish to attend and indicate their need when registering.

The conference is supported by Berkshire AHEC, the Berkshire Youth Development Project, the Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention, Berkshire United Way, and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
