Berkshire Brigade hosts fundraiser Sunday

PITTSFIELD -- The Berkshire Brigades, an official organization of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, will host a fundraiser on Sunday to introduce the party’s candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor.

The event takes place from 1 and 4 p.m. at the ITAM Lodge on Waubeek Road.

The speakers include all five Democratic candidates for governor: Joe Avellone, Don Berwick, Martha Coakley, Steve Grossman and Juliette Kayyem.

Also speaking will be the four candidates for Lt. Governor: James Arena-DeRosa, Jonathan Edwards, Steve Kerrigan and Mike Lake.

Democratic candidates running for attorney general and treasurer will be in attendance and U.S. Senator Edward Markey will be a special guest.

A silent auction by local photographer Barbara Winters of Becket that will benefit the Berkshire Brigades and the Becket Democratic Town Committee will also takes place.

The silent auction and a meet-and-greet with the candidates take place from 1 to 2 p.m.

The speaking program, followed by a question-and-answer session and the winning bids announcement is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m.
