Berkshire Business: Iredale Mineral Cosmetics brings global conference home

GREAT BARRINGTON — Iredale Mineral Cosmetics recently held its global sales conference at Cranwell Resort & Spa in Lenox.

Nearly 60 international distribution partners representing more than 50 countries participated in the seven-day event along with 70 members of IMC's domestic sales and education team.

The theme of this year's conference was "Feed, Fortify, Finish", a slogan that set the tone for learning, growing and sharing among this year's participants.

The agenda consisted of seven days of meetings and activities focused on brand experience, marketing, product innovation, overcoming challenges in the marketplace, product promotions, digital influences, team building exercises, and a motivational speaker.

New business consultants were welcomed and exceptional 2015 sales efforts rewarded during an awards banquet.

"Our visitors love seeing our headquarters in Great Barrington and how much our areas influences all that we do," said Jane Iredale, IMC's president and founder. They come to see us from all over the world ready to experience our culture, our wonderful local food, and great shopping, because they all have their favorite stores.

"They work so hard, "she said, "so we like to include some fun time among all of the informational sessions. It's important they go back with happy memories and feel part of our family."

This has been a big year for IMC, which manufactures a comprehensive line of makeup developed with quality minerals and skin care ingredients that are good for the skin. A responsible extension of skin care each product is subjected to rigorous sensitivity and safety tests.

The global cosmetics company recently received a presidential award for its "significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports."

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker bestowed the President's "E" Award to IMC at a ceremony in Washington DC in May.

"Iredale Mineral Cosmetics has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion," Pritzker said in a congratulatory letter to the company. "The "E" Awards Committee was very impressed with Iredale Mineral Cosmetics 'emphasis on comprehensive market research used for strategic market entry.

IMC was one of 123 companies nationwide to earn the honor for working to reduce barriers to foreign markets and opening the door to more trade around the world.
