Berkshire County: Area students earn college degrees

Ryan Carty, son of Dennis Carty and Carol Mack of 63 Birchwood Lane, Lenox, graduated from Northeastern University in Boston on May 8, 2015, with a bachelor of science degree cum laude in chemical engineering.

Carty is employed as a chemical engineer by Nano-C in Westwood.

During his college career, he worked at three six-month cooperative jobs. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Carty graduated from Lenox Memorial High School in 2010.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., graduated the following students during commencement ceremonies on May 30:

• Dylan Alibozek of Adams graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

• Theodore Bombola of Chatham, N.Y., graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

• Alexander Brown of Chatham, N.Y., graduated with a bachelor of science degree in industrial and management engineering.

• Solana Carlotta of Great Barrington graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nuclear engineering.

• Hayley Flynn of Lanesborough graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

• Lauren Galipeau of Dalton graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and biophysics.

• Alexander Hart of Adams graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

• Kyle McHugh of New Lebanon, N.Y., graduated with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry.

• Max Wheeler of Housatonic graduated with a bachelor of science degree in physics.

The following students received degrees from Western New England University on Aug. 15, 2015:

• Mark Placido of Pittsfield.

• Brandon Price of Pittsfield.

The State University of New York at New Paltz awarded undergraduate degrees to the following area residents following the conclusion of the spring 2015 semester:

• Kaitlyn Chopay of Dalton earned a bachelor of arts degree in history.

• Peter Raup-Kounovsky of Chatham, N.Y., earned a bachelor of science degree in management.

• Elisabeth Lareau of Chatham, N.Y., earned a bachelor of arts degree in international relations.

• Lauren Osterhoudt of Chatham, N.Y., earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics.

• Dylan Goodman of Chatham, N.Y., earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design.
