Berkshire County: Buddhist scholar to present talks, meditation
The Meditation Group of Northern Berkshire and the Pittsfield Meditation Sangha announce the return of Anyen Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist scholar and meditation master, as a presenter of two events in the Berkshires.
Rinpoche will offer practical information for "Finding Authentic Happiness" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 175 Wendell Ave., Pittsfield. Donations are welcome.
On Saturday, May 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Rinpoche will talk about "Working with Difficult Emotions and Conflict" at the North Adams Public Library, 74 Church St., third floor.
Rimpoche will also instruct shamatha (peaceful abiding) meditation practice throughout the day. The suggested fee for Saturday’s all day program is $40 which includes a vegetarian lunch, but no one will be excluded due to lack of financial means.
