Berkshire County college students recognized for academic achievement


Sam Landes of Pittsfield has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Landes is a student in the University’s College of Letters and Science.


Boston University has named the following area residents to its dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester: Rachel K. Bell of Dalton, Eileen A. Dooley of Lee, and Arielle N. Sebestyen of Lenox.

Each school and college at Boston University has their own criterion for the dean’s list, but students generally must attain a 3.5 grade point average or be in the top 30 percent of their class.


Ryan Terry of Lanesborough has been named to the provost list for the spring 2014 semester at Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vt. The provost list recognizes full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 during the semester.

Terry is majoring in biological sciences. He is a graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown and the son of Lynn and David Terry of Lanesborough.


Antara Nader, the daughter of Lucy Holland of Lenox and Geoff Nader of Glendale, has been named to the dean’s list of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., for the spring 2014 semester.

A graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School, Nader was a junior at Macalester last spring.

Dean’s list requires a semester grade point average of at least 3.75
