Berkshire County: Concerts to benefit emergency oil funds

The Gospel Gang, a contemporary Christian/gospel choir, along with The Messengers, a men’s gospel quartet, will present a "Gospel Christmas" to benefit the Emergency Oil Fund of the PACC (Pittsfield Area Council of Congregations) and the Emergency Assistance Fund of Construct Inc. of Great Barrington.

The gospel groups will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at First Congregational Church, 251 Main St., Great Barrington, and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at First United Methodist Church, 55 Fenn St., Pittsfield.

This is the fourth annual Christmas concert these groups have presented for the benefit of Emergency Oil Fund. In past years, the event raised over $5,000.

The Gospel Gang and The Messengers are sponsored by the United Methodist Church of Lenox as part of its musical outreach program.

This winter, 100 gallons of heating oil will be given on a one-time basis to families that have exhausted all other forms of fuel assistance.

There is no admission fee to the concerts. Instead a free will offering will be taken to benefit both emergency funds.
