Berkshire County: Free BRTA rides to benefit Soldier On

Posted

The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority's annual holiday campaign to offer free transit rides for a contribution will benefit Soldier On, the local organization assisting homeless veterans.

Any new, unwrapped contribution of personal care items, jackets, hats, gloves, socks, T-shirts, gift cards, writing paper, pens, stamps, or non-perishable food items will be accepted on any BRTA bus instead of the regular fare through Dec. 12.

Contributions must be in original packaging. The gift should equal the amount of the ride. No toilet paper, mouthwash, alcohol, or tobacco please.

For a complete wish list, visit Solider On at http://www.wesoldieron.org/donate/ or contact the BRTA operations department at 413-499-2782, ext. 1.

Donations are also accepted at the BRTA office located at the Intermodal Transportation Center on Columbus Avenue or 67 Downing Parkway, both in Pittsfield.
