Berkshire County: Free early literacy program enrolling now

The Parent Child Home Program at Child Care of the Berkshires has openings for families with children ages 18 months to 3 years to begin the program this fall in Berkshire County.

PCHP offers families two home visits each week for two years. At these visits, trained home visitors model for parents how to use books and toys in ways that increase children’s literacy, prepare children for school and increase positive parent-child interactions.

Starting this September, enrolled families will enjoy receiving a new quality book or toy each week, delivered by a trained home visitor. Home visits will be scheduled at times that work for family.

The program is completely voluntary and free.

The program is funded through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care for Northern Berkshire County, the United Way of Berkshire County for Pittsfield and through the Central Berkshire Regional School District for central Berkshire towns.

Space is limited; call the PCHP at (413) 664-4821.
