She is one of twenty New England high school scholar-athletes to receive this recognition, and is also a finalist in the PCA-New England Triple-Impact Competitor scholarship program.

Jourdain was honored by PCA-New England and the Boston Red Sox in a pregame ceremony at Fenway Park on Aug. 31.

FAIRVIEW GOLF CLASSIC

Thirty teams came out for Fairview Hospital's 2016 Golf Classic, held on Sept. 8 at the Stockbridge Golf Club. Over $38,000 was raised over for Fairview Hospital.

Overall tournament winners were the Wheeler and Taylor team, including players Gige Ryan, Jack Dezieck, Kim Zenisky and Marty Salvadore. Wheeler and Taylor last won the tournament in 2011.

Winning the net category were defending champions Joe LaRoche, Tom McCarthy, Lyn and Margaret Winslow.

An additional highlight of the day was a hole-in-one on hole No. 5, made by Bill Barry of Great Barrington. Although Barry missed the hole-in-one on hole No. 2, where the prize was a 2016 Lexus IS 300 F Sport sponsored by Balise Lexus, Barry did win a $250 gift certificate to the Stockbridge Golf Club Pro Shop.
