eduKaytion golf is offering fall junior golf K-Kamps for any junior (ages 6-14) on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.

Juniors can come on just Saturdays or just Wednesdays, or take both Wednesday and Saturday sessions for a total of either four or eight sessions.

Saturdays sessions start Sept. 24 — four sessions from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday sessions are from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Fee for a four-week session is $79 per junior with multiple sibling discounts available. Fee for the eight-week session is $145. Scholarships are available, please inquire.

NHRA's top drag racers from tracks across the Northeast division will be at Lebanon Valley Dragway to square off in head-to-head competition at the NHRA Summit Racing Series Northeast Division Finals from Sept. 15-17.

Top points earning drivers in five classes will be on hand to compete for team and individual honors. Racers in Super Pro, Pro, Street, Bike/Sled and High School will run in the event.

Friday's action will also feature the Race of Champions, where top points earners from each track will face off in a best of the best battle in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Bike/Sled.

Event eliminations kick off on Saturday with more than 500 racers competing for top honors and a chance to compete for the Summit Racing Series National Championship at the Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona in November. They'll run against the winners from NHRA's other six divisions for a purse of more than $100,000.

Gates at Lebanon Valley Raceway will open at 7 a.m. each day. Time trials will start Thursday morning at 9 and continue Friday at 9 a.m.

The first round of eliminations for the Race of Champions starts at 4 p.m. Friday. Final eliminations for all classes begin Saturday at 9 a.m.

On Aug. 6, Bruce Witherell was promoted to 9th degree black belt in Plymouth before a testing board of four 10th degree black belts from the International Uechi Karate Federation.

Witherell has been studying Uechi Ryu Karate since 1971 and is believed to be the highest ranking black belt ever from Berkshire County. Witherell is also a third-level master (hanshi).

Witherell is co-owner of the Berkshire Martial Arts Academy in Cheshire, along with his son Jim, a 7th degree black belt.

On Aug. 20, the Berkshire Martial Arts Academy promoted Bob Noel to 4th degree black belt and Lenora Sarrouf to 2nd degree black belt. Bill Meiklejohn was promoted to 6th degree black belt. They were tested by a board of 7th to 9th degree black belts.

Meiklejohn has been a student of Uechi Ryu for 42 years. Noel has studied for 38 years and Lenore for 15 years.
