Berkshire South sets spring break activities for school kids

GREAT BARRINGTON -- Berkshire Co-op Market and Berkshire South Regional Community Center have partnered again to offer an annual week of free, fun and educational programs during school vacation, April 21-25.

Called Get Unplugged 2014, activities range from an African Fun Dance class to a Sunshine Power Workshop.

The Berkshire Co-op’s website declares the week the "most exciting schedule yet for 2014."

Programs are free for South County children in kindergarten through Grade 8 and run between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. throughout the week.

Children can take part in the Get Unplugged Passport program in which kids get awarded stamps for the number of activities in which they participate. At the end of the week, prizes will be awarded based on the number of stamps they’ve earned.

Last year, 286 children participated. This year, advanced registration is recomended.

Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent in the building.

Parents can get detailed information on registration for their children at or by contacting John Parker at Berkshire South Regional Community Center, (413) 528-2810, ext. 31, or Jenny Schwartz at Berkshire Co-Op Market, (413) 528-9697, ext. 13.

Berkshire South Regional Community Center is located at 15 Crissey Road.
