Bicyclist struck, killed by car in Worcester


WORCESTER >> Worcester police are investigating after a man riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a car.

The Telegram & Gazette ( ) reports that the bicyclist was heading west on Belmont Street at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when he was struck by a car traveling in the same direction.

The cyclist was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.

The driver stopped at the scene and was interviewed by police.

No names were released.

The street was shut down for about an hour.

The death remains under investigation.
