Big seventh inning helps Post 68 to Legion win over N. Adams

PITTSFIELD -- A game that started two weeks ago in North Adams finally ended Tuesday at Clapp Park -- with Pittsfield Post 68 providing a lot of late offense.

Post 68 (4-1) scored seven times in the top of the seventh inning, beating North Adams 10-1. The first two innings of the game were played in North Adams two weeks ago, but the game was halted by rain and continued Tuesday.

Post 68 had five hits, two walks and reached on one error in the seventh inning. Kevin Squires' two-run double was the big hit.

"It just opened up the game," Post 68 manager Pat Bassi said.

Steve Witkowski got the win, pitching five innings and striking out five, scattering a run on two hits.

Post 68 faces the Tyler Aces today at Clapp Park.
