Bits & Bites: Area churches, clubs to host dinners, barbecue

ROAST PORK DINNER

The South Readsboro Community Club will have a roast pork dinner with all the trimmings from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. There will be homemade pies for dessert. The cost for adults is $12; children aged 5 to 11, $6. The clubhouse is on Bosley Hill Road, Readsboro, Vt.



FALL HARVEST TURKEY DINNER

The First Baptist Church in North Adams is having its annual Fall Harvest turkey dinner with all of the fixings Saturday in the Eagle Street fellowship hall. There are two sittings for this event, at 5 and 6 p.m.

The cost for adults is $12, children aged 6 to 12 are $8 and children 5 and younger are free. Tickets are available at the church office, 131 Main St. or at the door that night. All proceeds from this dinner will benefit Camp Ashmere and its programming for youth.



TURKEY DINNER IN BECKET

First Congregational Church of Becket will hold a turkey dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Guild Hall on YMCA Road, Becket The cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12.

LIONS CHICKEN BARBECUE

The Hinsdale Lions Club will host a chicken barbecue from 4 to 6:30 p.m.     Saturday at the Lions hall on Route 143, Hinsdale.

The menu will include barbecue chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, dessert and beverage.               Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children younger than 12. Call 413-655-2973 the day of the event for reservations. Take-out meals will be available.
