Bits & Bites: Strawberries star in dinners, festival

Roast pork dinner

The First Congregational Church of South Egremont will hold its annual roast pork and strawberry shortcake dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.

The menu includes roast pork, mashed potatoes, carrots, applesauce, strawberry shortcake and beverage. Take-out will be available.

Adults $12 and children ages 5-10 $5.

Strawberry Festival

The Second Congregational Church will hold a Strawberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the church, 81 Hancock Road (Route 43), in Williamstown.

The festival will feature homemade strawberry shortcake, lunch, bake sale, tag sale, jewelry table Chinese auction, crafters, children's games and plants.

Turkey dinner

The South Readsboro Community Club will host its first turkey dinner of the season from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday June 18.

Dinner includes turkey with all the fixings and homemade strawberry shortcake for dessert. Cost: $12.

The will be held at the club, Bosley Hill Road, Readsboro, Vt.

Father's Day breakfast

Dewey Hall in Sheffield will hold its annual pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. on Father's Day, June 19.

Attendees will have a choice of plain or blueberry pancakes made with local berries. Pure maple syrup will be served.

The breakfast, a fundraiser for Dewey Hall, is $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. A raffle will also be held.

Dewey Hall is at 91 Main St., Route 7, on Sheffield's Village Green.
