Bits & Bites: Waffle Bar, summer fest on tap
Waffle Bar FUNdraiser
The Northern Berkshire Community Coalition's Community Outreach Volunteers will host the Rockin' Raffle Waffle Bar FUNdraiser from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, at the UNO Community Center, 157 River St., North Adams.
The event will feature a waffle bar, in which attendees can dress their waffle with a variety of delicious toppings.
There will also be raffles to support the new workforce development program, Employ North Berkshire. This program will help build employable skills and provide a success coach to North County individuals who are in search of steady employment. Raffle prizes have been donated by Berkshire Theatre Group, MASS MoCA, Oh Crepe, North Adams Movieplex, Sounds and Tones Records, Shear Madness Salon and more.
Admission will be free; raffle tickets can be purchased the night of the event. Tickets will cost $1 per ticket or $5 for an arm's length. Flannel Dan and the Panhandle Band, Common Folk and many more will be performing live.
Parking will be available in the lot on the corner of Bracewell Avenue and Houghton Street.

St. Ann Summer Festival
St. Ann Parish will hold "A Berkshire Community Celebration — St. Ann's Summer Festival" on Saturday and Sunday at the church, 134 Main St., Lenox.
On Saturday, the festival will include a bake sale, kids' carnival, theme baskets and cash raffles, burgers, hot dogs and more, and live auction. A family Tex-Mex Fiesta will be offered 5 to 8 p.m. for $18 adults, $8 children younger than 12. There will also be a Beer & Wine Garden, live music, and free popcorn and movie for kids.
A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sunday. The cost is $6 adults, $3 children younger than 12.
The 11:15 a.m. Mass, with the St. Ann's Youth Ensemble, will be celebrated under the tent. An ice cream social from The Scoop will follow.

Summer potluck picnic
The summer potluck picnic of the Stephentown Historical Society will be at 6 p.m. Monday, July 11, at the Stephentown Firehall Pavilion, 35 Grange Hall Road, Stephentown, N.Y.
The society is providing hamburgers, hotdogs, rolls and condiments, as well as the usual table service and beverages. All that is needed to complete the menu is for folks to bring appetizers or side dishes.
The entertainment for the evening honors the 225th anniversary of the birth of George Holcomb, Stephentown's journal-writing farmer during the first half of the 19th century. Brush up on your knowledge of 19th-century farm life. Some folks might have to "chop wood to the door" or learn how to harness a horse to a wagon.

Art and Science of Beer
Williams College Museum of Art will host "The Art and Science of Beer" from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, on the patio of the museum in Williamstown.
Learn how and why beer tastes as good as it does and finish off the evening with a glass of home brew. The event is free.

Legion Auxiliary breakfast
The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will have its monthly breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 10, at the post home on Tunnel Street, Readsboro, Vt.
Enjoy a homestyle country breakfast of eggs pancakes or french toast, sausage, toast, orange juice and coffee. All for a $6 donation.
