Bring the kids: Fun things to do during Winter Break


Are you looking for something to do to keep the kids engaged, busy and, better yet, out of your hair during winter vacation this week? Here are a few ideas to help make the time you have with them in between holiday celebrations filled with activities to avoid the "I'm bored" chorus! Grab your coats — or rain boots — and visit one of these Berkshire attractions for some unexpected fun.

Puppeteer Carl Sprague will bring to life "Rapunzel," at 3:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum in Lenox. Tickets are $15 for adults; $7 for children, free for children 3 and under. Call 413-637-3206.

The Clark's Free Family Film Festival kicks off 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with "Babe." Other screenings include: "Inside Out." 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" on Thursday.

Drop in on art at The Norman Rockwell Museum all week for fun art workshops for all ages. From 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday (closed Friday) there is something new to do every day. Free with museum admission.
