Bring the kids: Fun things to do in the Berkshires and Shires of Vermont, June 9-15

Posted

From tractor and truck pulls to enjoying live country music, there's plenty to keep your little ones busy and engaged this first weekend in June. At the Hilltown Hoedown Spring Festival, challenge them to a game of cornhole, or stop by a Vermont historic site or state park this weekend for free in celebration of Vermont Days. If you're looking to break up your week, make plans to dance the evening away on Wednesday at Windsor Lake in North Adams, Mass.

Stop by the Hilltown Hoedown Spring Festival at the Cummington Fairgrounds in Cummington, Mass. From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 11, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 12, enjoy tractor pulls and live music. $8 adults, $4 kids 12 and younger.

Grab the kids and some lawn chairs and head over to Windsor Lake, in North Adams, Mass. every Wednesday this summer for a concert by the lake. At 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, enjoy free music by local favorite Bernice Lewis.

Take advantage of Vermont Days — held Saturday and Sunday, June 11, 12 — when all state Historic Sites and State Parks are admission free. Stop by The Bennington Battle Monument on Saturday and cheer on Fight For Air Climb runners.
