Bring the Kids: Week of June 2 to 8

Celebrate the beginning of June with these family-friendly, kid-loving events. There's plenty of wildlife activities for your budding naturalist to enjoy at a free family fun day at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, or if you have a future farmer, let him or her get up close with a heifer. Or, get the whole family moving on Sunday to the beats of a community-wide dance party for a good cause.

Your little critters are sure to love the Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary's Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 4. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy music, live animal demonstrations, crafts and more at the Lenox, Mass., wildlife sanctuary.

Make a day of it and take a trip to Brattleboro, Vt., for the Strolling of the Heifers parade. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. sharp on Saturday, June 4, on Main Street. Pet some animals at the Slow Living Expo on the Brattleboro Common.

Show off your moves and have fun for a good cause. Take the kids to Main Street, North Adams, Mass., from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 5, for Dancing in the Street to benefit Pop Cares. Festival will include food and other activities.
