PITTSFIELD >> Berkshire Theatre Group is seeking child and adult actors for its soon-to-be-announced 11th annual community theater production, and for its BTG Plays! 2016-2017 touring show, E, Gray Simons III's stage adaptation of Ty Jackson's "Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire: The Lemonade Escapade."

Auditions for both productions — by appointment only — are scheduled for 6-10 p.m. Feb. 3 and Feb. 4 at The Colonial Theatre, 111 South St.

Student auditions will be held during the first three hours of each session and the last hour will be for adults. Adults should be prepared to sing only 16 bars of a song and bring the accompanying sheet music that is in the key in which they prefer to sing. Students should be ready to learn songs from "Beauty and the Beast." Callbacks will take place as needed.

Audition time slots are available by phone at 413-448-8084 x23.

The community theater production will be directed by Travis G. Daly, with music direction by Mark Gionfriddo. Performances will be in the summer.

Needed are child and adult actors, musicians, backstage crew, technical support, usher staff and parent volunteers. The roles and positions are open to members of the Berkshire community, grade three through adult.

Rehearsals will begin in June in Pittsfield,

Last year's production, "Mary Poppins," featured over 120 children and adults from the community and was seen by over 6,000 patrons,

Daly also will direct "Danny Dollar " for BTG Plays!

Needed for this non-musical touring production are 10 actors grade 7 and up. The play focuses on an African-American family. Danny Dollar is a kid with a plan. He is out to become a millionaire and conquer the world. Unfortunately for him, the neighborhood bullies have other plans for Danny, like public humiliation. But when the last person in the world he would have expected enters his life, something happens that he never could have imagined.

This production tours during the school year with, on average, one performance per week during the school day, Rehearsals will begin in fall.
