Advanced manufacturing grant funding available

MassDevelopment is currently accepting its fifth round of applications for its AMP it up! campaign, which provides matching grants to eligible organizations that will create innovative programs to educate students and adults about career options in advanced manufacturing.

Eligible applicants must be Massachusetts-based nonprofit organizations that address education and workforce issues. The application deadline is Dec. 1. Grant awards will be announced in January.

PITTSFIELD
Pain medicine physician joins Berkshire Health Systems

Dr. Gaurav Jain, a board certified and fellowship trained specialist in pain medicine, has been appointed to the medical staff of Berkshire Medical Center. He joins Dr. Andrew DeMaggio at the New England Pain Center.

Jain most recently provided interventional pain medicine and physiatry services at the Brain and Spine Center in Williamsville, N.Y., and at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

7 Western Massachusetts attorneys on best lawyers list

Seven members of the Springfield law firm Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin have joined colleague and Monterey resident Steven J. Schwartz on The Best Lawyers in America 2017 list.

Those attorneys include managing partner Timothy P. Mulhern, and shareholders Michele J. Feinstein, Gary S. Fentin, Carol Cioe Klyman, James B. Shiels, Ann I. Weber and Steven Weiss.

Established in 1969, Shatz, Schwartz and Fentin specializes in business law, real estate planning, commercial and tax-exempt bond financing, real estate law, litigation and bankruptcy.
