Wellness center holding grand opening on Thursday

Boundless, a bodywork, personal training and wellness space, will officially open on Thursday with an open house. The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m.

Located on the second floor of the Shaker Mill Tavern, Boundless provides private and small group wellness solutions woven from several services include advanced massage therapy, integrative functional training, acupuncture, and traditional Chinese medicine.

Founded by Karden Robin, Boundless' practitioners include Kelly Clady-Giramma, and Elaine Mack.


State home sales continue unprecedented hot streak

Single-family home sales in Massachusetts increased 16.3 percent in October from the same month last year, as 5,127 sales were recorded, according to The Warren Group of Boston, which tracks state real estate transactions.

Year-to-date, sales are up 10.8 percent from last year.

In the Berkshires, there was no change in the amount of sales in October compared to the same month in 2014, but total sales have increased 8.2 percent this year.


BMC, Fairview honored by The Joint Commission

Berkshire Medical Center and Fairview Hospital have been recognized as 2014 Top Performers on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in the United States.

Both hospitals were recognized in The Joint Commission's 2015 annual report which uses data from 2014.

BMC was cited for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for heart attack, heart failures, pneumonia, surgical care, venous thrombolembolism and stroke care. Fairview was recognized for surgical care.
