Adams Bank fundraisers for cancer organizations

The Adams Community Bank will be holding three fundraisers for two local cancer organizations — Moments House and PopCares Inc.

The bank will host a corn hole tournament on Friday, April 1 at the Cheshire Rod & Gun Club; a Mexican Fiesta Night on Friday, April 29 at the Richmond Grille at the Holiday Inn in North Adams; and a golf tournament on Saturday, May 7 at Stamford Valley Golf Course in Stamford, Vt.

ExtraSpecialTeas opens on Elm Street on Saturday

ExtraSpecial Teas, a teahouse at 2 Elm St. operated by special needs adults, will hold its grand opening on Saturday, which is also World Autism Awareness Day.

State Rep. William "Smitty" Pignatelli will cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony, which begins at 1 p.m.

ExtraSpecialTeas will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended weekend hours will be announced soon.

BCREB honors outstanding employers and educators

Fairview Hospital, Marianne Young and Sean Flynn received workforce development awards recently at the Berkshire County Regional Employment Board's quarterly meeting.

Fairview was honored for its longstanding efforts in providing high school internships and college/career readiness programming to Berkshire County youth.

Young, the principal of Monument Mountain High School, was honored for her work with work-based learning initiatives. Flynn was recognized for assisting young people.
