Adams Community Bank hosting college athlete session
Adams Community Bank will host an information session on what it takes to be a college athlete on Tuesday, March 8.
Guest coaches include Deb Raber from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Drew Pearce from UAlbany, and Peter Mendel from Curry College. Area college athletes will also be in attendance.
The session will take place at 7 p.m. at The Bass Water Grill. Light refreshments will be served. The session is free.

Plastic surgeon receives state honor from ratings group
Dr. Basil M. Michaels of Pittsfield has been nominated and accepted as a 2015 American Institute of Plastics Surgeons 10 best plastic surgeon in Massachusetts for client satisfaction. The American Institute of Plastic Surgeons is a third-party rating organization that publishes an annual list of the top 10 plastic surgeons in each state.
Surgeons who are selected to the "10 Best" list must pass the American Institute for Plastic Surgeons' rigorous selection process which is based on patient and/or peer nominations, thorough research and the organization's independent evaluation.
Berkshire Bank foundations award $1.8 million in grants
Berkshire Bank's two charitable foundations awarded a total of $1.8 million in grants to nonprofit organizations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and Vermont during 2015.
The grants supported important education and community development initiatives as well as health and human services, cultural programs, and $500,000 in community sponsorships.
