Adams Community Bank raising funds for Alzheimer's

The Adams Community Bank Walk to End Alzheimer's team will hold a Mangia, Mangia Italian Night to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association on Thursday, Sept. 8.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Richmond Grille at the Holiday Inn in North Adams. The cost is $25 per person.

All proceeds go directly to the Alzheimer's Association. The group is also sponsoring other fundraising activities.

The 24th annual Walk to End Alzheimer's takes place Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Ashuwillticook Rail Trial, Farnams Causeway in Cheshire.

Assistive Technology Regional Center to hold workshops

The Assistive Technology Regional Center, operated by United Cerebral Palsy Association of Berkshire County (UCP), is offering late summer and fall workshops on a variety of assistive technology devices.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday, Aug. 26: "Tablet Technology and AAC," 10 a.m.-noon, The Association for Community Living, Springfield.

Friday, Sept. 9: "AccessNSM", 10 a.m.-noon, UCP, 208 West St., Pittsfield.

Friday, Sept. 23: "Accent Devices: A Range of Devices to Support Alternative Access", 10 a.m.-noon, The Association for Community Living, Springfield.

Friday, Oct. 14: "AccessNSM", 10 a.m.-noon, The Association for Community Living, Springfield.

Friday, Oct. 28: "Supporting Our Adult Population: Selecting the Best Assistive Technology for the Need", 10 a.m.-noon, UCP, Pittsfield.
