BBPW selects Hazzard as 2016 Woman of Achievement

Berkshire Business and Professional Women have selected Berkshire United Way CEO Kristine Hazzard to be the recipient of the BBPW's 2016 Woman of Achievement Award.

Following a rigorous nomination process, the honor is annually bestowed on a Berkshire County woman for her considerable career accomplishments and outstanding commitment to the community.

In celebration of National Women in Business Week, Hazzard will receive her award from the BBPW on Monday, Oct. 17 at a dinner event at the Country Club of Pittsfield. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.

County entities eligible for SBA disaster loans

The U.S. Small Business Administration has made federal economic injury disaster loans available to Berkshire County entities that received damage during the frost and freeze that occurred in this area Feb. 12-15.

Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits of all sizes are eligible to apply.
