BCC offering noncredit hospitality certificate

Berkshire Community College is offering a new noncredit hospitality program, "Customer Engagement", to prepare workers for jobs and careers in hotels and restaurants.

The 21-hour noncredit certificate program will be taught by hospitality industry veteran Carl Pratt.

Classes will take place in Pittsfield from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 4, 11, 18, and 25. Classes will take place in Great Barrington from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 10, 17, 24 and 31.

MCLA adds four MBA Advisory Board members

The Masters of Business Administration program at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts has named David W. Curtis, June Roy-Martin, Jonathan Denmark and David Crane to its MBA Advisory Board.

Curtis is president of Cape Catalyst of Stockbridge, a strategic business and economic consultancy, and serves as an economic development specialist for 1Berkshire.

Roy-Martin is the vice president of both 1Berkshire and the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce. She was previously employed at Qualprint in Pittsfield for 27 years, most recently as manager of communications and human resources.

Denmark is the president and chief operating officer for Coakley, Pierpan, Dolan and Collins Insurance Agency, which is headquartered in North Adams.

Crane is the owner of Excelsior Companies — Excelsior Printing and Excelsior Integrated LLC — and the director of MountainOne Financial Partners.

Ad Club seeks Pynchon Award nominations

The Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts is seeking nominations from the region's four counties for the 101st annual William Pynchon Award, the area's oldest and most prestigious community service award.

Established in 1915, the William Pynchon Award honors individuals from all walks of life who go beyond the call of duty to enhance the quality of life in Western Massachusetts.

Nominations must be submitted by Saturday, April 30. Information:
