Berkshire Communicators honored again by ATSI

Berkshire Communicators Inc. has received the Association of TeleServices International (ATSI) 2016 Award of Excellence, the 12th consecutive year the firm has received this award.

ATSI presents the award annually to providers of telecommunications and call center services including telephone answering and message delivery across North America and the United Kingdom. ATSI is the industry's trade association.

Berkshire Communicators received the award at ATSI's 2016 Annual Convention in Tampa, Fla.

Tanglewood to be honored by 1Berkshire in September

Tanglewood and the Boston Symphony Orchestra have been selected to receive the 2016 Putting the Berkshires on the Map award from 1Berkshire in recognition of the substantial contributions the orchestra and the facility have on the economy of the Berkshires.

The recognition will be presented at the sixth annual Celebrate the Berkshires event which will take place on Thursday, Sept. 15 at Tanglewood.

Tanglewood has been the BSO's summer home since 1937. The 2015 Tanglewood season drew more than 315,000 visitors from around the world.

GREAT BARRINGTON
Fire Department receives FEMA grant for air packs

The Great Barrington Fire Department has received a $160,477 Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to purchase new self contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA) for the entire department.

The grant will supply 28 SCBA's, commonly known as air packs, to outfit all of the department's apparatus. The new SCBA cylinders hold 50 percent more air than the department's current air packs.
