Berkshire Healthcare facilities honored by national entity

Berkshire Healthcare communities have received 19 of the 25 awards given to the state of Massachusetts by the National Research Corporation for exceptional customer and employee satisfaction.

The 2014-15 Excellence in Action winners by category are as follows:

Customer Satisfaction — Fairview Commons, Great Barrington; Kimball Farms Life Care, Lenox; Williamstown Commons.

Customer and employee satisfaction: Kimball Farms Nursing Care, Lenox; Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, Pittsfield; North Adams Commons; PineHill Assisted Living, Lenox.

Ninety Nine Restaurant Boys & Girls Club fundraiser

The Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub chain's annual Boys & Girls Club fundraiser begins on Friday and runs until Monday, Oct. 31. The chain has a restaurant in Pittsfield.

The fundraiser, which raises funds for Boys & Girls Clubs through menu specials, meal deals and more, is taking place at all of the chain's 106 restaurants in New England and upstate New York.

Nonprofit Center workshop on arts & culture grants Oct. 5

The Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires will hold a workshop titled, "Grant Funding for Arts & Culture Organizations" on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Berkshire Community College, 343 Main St.

The workshop is for staff and board members of arts and cultural organizations and will cover types of grants, how to do grant research and grant writing skills and guidelines.

The cost is $25 for NPC members and $35 for non-members. Information/registration: npcberkshires.org.
