BMC, Fairview both honored by Harvard Pilgrim

Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield and Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington are among 55 hospitals in four New England states that have been named to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care's ninth annual Hospital Honor Roll.

The honor roll acknowledges those adult, acute care hospitals whose performance was among the top 25 percent of those measured nationally on a set of compositive quality and patient measures, as reported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on Hospital Compare and the Leapfrog Group's Leapfrog patient safety measures. The list includes 21 Massachusetts hospitals.

Browdy to speak at monthly Zonta Club meeting

Jennifer Browdy, the head of the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers and the new Butterfly Leadership Program for Teen Girls and Young Women will speak when the Zonta Club of Pittsfield meets on Monday, Feb. 8 at Mazzeo's Ristorante, 1015 South St,

The meeting starts at 5 p.m. It will include a brief networking time, a business meeting, the speaker, then dinner.

Zonta International is a worldwide service organization working to advance the status of women. Guests are welcome at all meetings, but reservations are required for dinner.

Chamber Nite Event at Enso Asian Bistro on Feb. 17
