Butterworth takes on new role at Main Street

Brian Butterworth, who has led sales efforts at Main Street Hospitality Group for 14 years, has taken on the newly created role of senior director of business development, community and industry affairs. The appointment is effective immediately.

His key areas of responsibility will be overseeing all aspects of community and legislative engagement, developing new projects and markets, and generating sales leads and business opportunities for all properties. Butterworth will report directly to MSHG CEO Sarah Eustis and work closely with the leadership team.

MSHG owns and/or manages several lodging properties throughout the Berkshires. Butterworth joined the company in 2003.

RCAM names Davis-Hassan Realtor of Year

Realtor Barb Davis-Hassan of Pittsfield was recently awarded the Realtor of the Year Award by the Realtors Commercial Alliance of Massachusetts. Davis-Hassan is the organization's 2016 president.

The award is granted to an outstanding Realtor member who has made the greatest contribution to the advancement of the real estate profession and the community at large from Jan. 1 of the previous year to the present time.

A Realtor since 1988, Davis-Hassan has earned the Certified Commercial Investment (CCIM) designation, the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) designation, the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation and the Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) designation.

"Marilyn Sperling Greylock Scholar" established

Greylock Federal Credit Union has established the Marilyn Sperling Greylock Scholar Scholarship to honor the financial institution's recently retired president and CEO.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to a recent female high school graduate or non-traditional woman tudent at Berkshire Community College. It provides a maximum of $5,000.

This year's recipient is Lori Cormier, a non-traditional student, who is studying business career health information management at BCC. She plans to graduate with an associates degree in December 2016.

Sperling retired Oct. 1, after serving as CEO since 2010.
